Ceremonial Cacao: Modern Wellness Glow Up To Coffee

Meet your new glow-up to coffee — ethically sourced, raw, Ceremonial Cacao that’s as energizing as it is nourishing.

Forget the jitters and crashes of your morning brew. The next evolution of daily energy is here: pure, stone-ground Cacao, crafted in small batches to preserve its natural antioxidants, magnesium, and mood-supporting compounds. At Abundance, we keep our process slow and intentional, ensuring every sip delivers smooth, creamy texture and gentle, sustained focus.

Whether you choose our Granules, Bars, or Seeds of Life, preparing cacao at home is simple — and the result is a cup that’s deeply satisfying, naturally uplifting, and genuinely good for you.

Each Abundance Ceremonial Cacao product is prepared the same way — just one small difference in how you start:

Granules → Ready to use straight from the tin or pouch (use our biodegradable scoop to measure 2 scoops = 20g)

Bars → Finely chop your chosen amount before melting (the back of the packaging states how many squares depending on the weight - 50g, 400g, or 1kg)

Seeds of Life → Add whole; they melt easily as you warm and whisk (20g = approx 2 discs)

You'll Need

  • 20–25 g of Abundance Ceremonial Cacao  (2 scoops using our provided Abundance biodegradable scoops)

  • 100ml hot water (never boiling — around 85 °C)

  • 150ml plant-based milk (barista oat, almond, or coconut for creaminess)

  • Natural, non-refined sweetener:

    • Coconut blossom sugar

    • Date syrup or blended soft dates

    • Ethically sourced honey (if not strictly vegan)

    • Pure maple syrup

  • Optional spices & adaptogens:

    • Warming & aromatic: cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, cayenne, or ginger

    • Functional & grounding: maca for energy, reishi or lion’s mane for focus, cordyceps for endurance

How To Prepare Ceremonial Cacao

Step 1: Melt the Abundance Ceremonial Cacao

Add 20–25g of Cacao (granules, chopped bar, or Seeds of Life discs) to a small pot or heatproof bowl.

Pour in 100ml of hot (not boiling) water and warm gently over low heat, stirring until fully melted. This slow process helps the Cacao emulsify with water, creating a creamy base texture without losing nutrients.

Step 2: Add Plant Milk Of Choice & Blend Until Creamy

Pour in 150ml of your chosen plant milk and blend or whisk until smooth and lightly foamy.

Using a high-speed blender or the Abundance Electric Whisk makes all the difference — it helps create a Ceremonial Cacao with barista-style foam while ensuring your spices and sweeteners integrate seamlessly for a full flavour profile. The result is a rich, creamy consistency that feels indulgent.

Step 3: Sweeten & Spice As Needed

Taste before sweetening, pure Cacao is naturally rich and earthy.

Add 1–2 teaspoons of your chosen natural sweetener and blend again. Then stir in or blend your preferred spices and adaptogens.

Try these combinations:

  • For balance: cinnamon + cardamom + maca

  • For energy: cayenne + turmeric + cordyceps

  • For calm focus: reishi + lion’s mane + a hint of ginger

Step 4: Set An Intention, Pour & Enjoy

Pour into your favourite cup and enjoy warm.

As the Cacao settles, you’ll notice the aroma deepen and the flavour unfold with every sip, smooth, grounding, and naturally uplifting.

Pro Tip:
  • Keep water below boiling (around 85 °C) to preserve antioxidants and minerals.

  • For the creamiest texture, choose full-bodied plant milks with natural fats like oat, almond, or coconut.

  • Avoid refined sugars — natural sweeteners enhance cacao’s complex notes rather than masking them.

  • Store your cacao in a cool, dry place, sealed tightly away from moisture and light.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between Ceremonial Cacao and regular cocoa or hot chocolate?

Ceremonial Cacao is 100% pure cacao made from whole, minimally processed beans, not roasted, alkalized, or mixed with sugar or dairy like traditional cocoa.

Using low heat is retains its natural antioxidants, minerals, and mood-boosting compounds, making it far more nutrient-dense and satisfying.

How much Ceremonial Cacao should I use per cup?

We recommend 20–25g (2 Abundance scoops) per serving. This creates a rich, balanced flavour and smooth texture while remaining gentle enough for daily enjoyment.

A traditional Ceremonial Cacao dose is considered 40g or more, often used in intentional settings or deeper restorative moments, not as an everyday serving. For daily wellbeing, the 20–25 g dose provides plenty of nourishment, energy, and mood support without overstimulation.

What’s the best way to make my Ceremonial Cacao creamy and foamy?

Use a high-speed blender or the Abundance Electric Whisk to blend your Ceremonial Cacao. This creates a silky and beautifully formed drink while ensuring spices and sweeteners integrate evenly, resulting in a smooth, barista-quality texture.

Can I drink Ceremonial Cacao every day?

Yes. Many people enjoy Ceremonial Cacao daily as a healthy, plant-based alternative to coffee. It offers sustained energy and focus without caffeine crashes, while supporting mood, skin, and hormonal balance through its rich magnesium and antioxidant content.

Can I blend Ceremonial Cacao with other ingredients?

Absolutely. Ceremonial Cacao pairs beautifully with warming spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, turmeric, or cayenne, and with adaptogens like maca, reishi, cordyceps, or lion’s mane.

Sweeten naturally using maple syrup, coconut sugar, ethically sourced honey, or blended dates — avoiding refined sugars helps maintain its natural benefits.
